In order to apply for family housing at Fort Eustis, prospective residents must submit an application. Applications can be made on-line on our website or by faxing it to us at 757-369-8326. If you do not have an AKO, please contact our office at 757-369-8335.
In addition, you will need to provide:
- A copy of your official orders bringing you to Fort Eustis
- A current, official DEERS enrollment-(DD1172) showing proof of your dependants
- A copy of your leave papers (DA31), showing leave they plan on taking prior to their arrival to Fort Eustis
- A current LES
- A copy of your ID card

A Resident Specialist will contact you once your application has been received. The Resident Specialist will answer your housing questions and assure that we have all of your necessary documentation. You will be placed on the Wait List once we have all necessary documentation.
Please contact us two weeks prior to your arrival at 757-369-8336 to solidify your arrival date.
Once you arrive to Fort Eustis and check in with your command, you will need visit our office located at 126 Madison Avenue. (To reach Madison Avenue take the first left once you pass through the front gate).
You will be welcomed and asked to provide:
- A copy of your stamped orders
Availability of homes will be provided at that time.
The following information is provided for your convenience:
- Once you have arranged phone service please provide our office with the updated contact information.
- Renter’s Insurance: we recommend the purchase of additional renter’s insurance.
- Move in Day: Once you are offered a home, the move-in orientation is usually scheduled in advance during normal business hours. Please allow 45-60 minutes to review and sign the necessary paperwork.
- Your first month’s pro-rated rent will be due upon move-in. This rent must be paid by CERTIFIED FUND or CREDIT CARD. (i.e. cashiers check, money order or bank draft) The allotment option can only be started on the 1st of the month and will be withdrawn twice from your LES on the 15th and 1st of every month as allotments are paid in arrears.
- Lease Agreement: Lease is for 12 months.
- Box Disposal: After unpacking your boxes, please remember to flatten them and place them with your trash can and recyclables at the curb after 5:00pm on Wednesday night.
